XPERIA Pureness is Launching this Month

Sony Ericsson Xperia PurenessIt is November 2009 and Sony Ericsson has an interesting mobile phone for all of us. It is the SE XPERIA Pureness; this device was originally nicknamed “Kiki”.  Well no surprise about the name change, I cannot imagine how that would have sold. Anyway, as awkward as the name Pureness seems to be, it fits the new phone like a charm. We have yet to see this device in action, but the preliminary press images are pretty interesting. With the Xperia X2 coming and the Xperia X10 well underway, we are not so sure we have much interest left for a new Sony Ericsson device, but with the device being as gimmicky as it is, it just might be what the public needs.

Transparent Screen

The Pureness’ unique factor is its screen; the entire screen is a transparent LCD. Yep, the new XPERIA is a designer phone made for those folks who can appreciate a novelty device. No announcement yet if the Pureness will be a 3G handset, but it could very well be a 2G device since it is unlikely that you will be able to do some decent web browsing on the transparent screen. With details on the actual specifications, there is a lack of SE Pureness reviews that can give you more information aside from the fact that this little mobile phone has a transparent screen.

Make Believe

The Pureness is the first phone Sony is releasing under their new “Make.Believe” advertising campaign. We can probably expect to see some concept phones being manufactured under this line. If this does turn out to be cheap, it will not matter what kind of Pureness contracts will be made available by the carriers as this phone if more for flaunting than for function. Expect the Pureness to hit stores before the end of this month.

Sony Ericsson Xperia PurenessWell, well, how is that? The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 was officially revealed just a couple of days before the announcement of an amazing phone which we previously only saw in techno – thrillers. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness was unveiled in London, England, and is a phone which looks typically XPERIA. This is because the phone is in line with SE’s new direction, which is ‘make.believe’.

The phone has a very simple specs sheet with the main highlights being the Bluetooth, music player and the FM radio as well as the support for 2G networks.

However, it is the design of the phone which makes you understand the tag – line of the phone, which is ‘beautiful craftsmanship and the concept of talk, text, time – a holiday from technology’. The phone makes use of a transparent screen which is, at best, very quirky.

The aim of the phone’s design, which also seems to give a clue with regard to the name of the phone, was to ‘sculpt an object of design which reflected the purity of water and a sense of calmness when not in use’.

In case you seem to be a bit surprised at seeing the phone for the first time, this shouldn’t be so as you would’ve seen the phone under another name, the Sony Ericsson Kiki, which was the unofficial name of the phone, and was seen in the rumour mill about 2 montsh ago. The keys of the phone appear to be touch sensitive and light up only when needed.

Neither SE, nor other Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness Reviews, have revealed full details about the features of the phone but, like mentioned earlier, the features are quite basic. The phone will ship in November this year for a hefty 640 pounds but you may be able to find some cheaper Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness deals online.
