It is November 2009 and Sony Ericsson has an interesting mobile phone for all of us. It is the SE XPERIA Pureness; this device was originally nicknamed “Kiki”. Well no surprise about the name change, I cannot imagine how that would have sold. Anyway, as awkward as the name Pureness seems to be, it fits the new phone like a charm. We have yet to see this device in action, but the preliminary press images are pretty interesting. With the Xperia X2 coming and the Xperia X10 well underway, we are not so sure we have much interest left for a new Sony Ericsson device, but with the device being as gimmicky as it is, it just might be what the public needs.
Transparent Screen
The Pureness’ unique factor is its screen; the entire screen is a transparent LCD. Yep, the new XPERIA is a designer phone made for those folks who can appreciate a novelty device. No announcement yet if the Pureness will be a 3G handset, but it could very well be a 2G device since it is unlikely that you will be able to do some decent web browsing on the transparent screen. With details on the actual specifications, there is a lack of SE Pureness reviews that can give you more information aside from the fact that this little mobile phone has a transparent screen.
Make Believe
The Pureness is the first phone Sony is releasing under their new “Make.Believe” advertising campaign. We can probably expect to see some concept phones being manufactured under this line. If this does turn out to be cheap, it will not matter what kind of Pureness contracts will be made available by the carriers as this phone if more for flaunting than for function. Expect the Pureness to hit stores before the end of this month.
