sony-ericssons312multimediaphoneThe Sony Ericsson S312 Snapshot is one of the new phones to be launched some time later this year. Also known as Athena, news about the device launched last year. The official name of the device hasn’t been released yet but most rumors claim it be the son. Full details of the specifications are also not known. The phone is a low budget phone in the candy bar format. The phone looks ok though with a simple design and rounded edges. The phone has a standard numeric keypad. It has a small display with a 176 x 220 resolution.

The memory of the Sony Ericsson S312 Snapshotis likely to be pretty low.
Connectivity options of the S312 Snapshot have not been released yet. It probably won’t feature options such as HSDPA though it might have quad band GSM though this has not been confirmed yet.

The camera of the Sony Ericsson S312 Snapshot will have a resolution of more than 2 MP. This camera will not have the autofocus feature though which will be a disadvantage for sure. Details about video recording and playback have not been released.

Disadvantages of the phone will definitely surround its primitive camera which without autofocus will be virtually useless. The photo snapper should feature at least 2 MP. The screen is also said to be really small which will definitely seem cramped specially when messaging. The connectivity features are also likely to be basic which will definitely be a disadvantage.

Overall the phone cannot be judged until all the specifications are released. This might be one of the best budget phones to be released if the price is low enough. This allows a wider range of consumers to use it which definitely gives it an advantage when compared to the other phones released by sony ericsson. Check Sony Ericsson’s own site for updates on the S312.
